This Month's Meeting:

Topic: "Avoiding Process Improvement Pitfalls"

. Speaker: MSteve Huck, PMP, Practice Director - E3, TRISSENTIAL

Abstract: Avoiding Process Improvement Pitfalls

Many IT organizations desire to improve their software and system development processes. They have experienced the ongoing pain of poor product quality, missed customer expectations, and blown project budgets. Executives and directors living though this are attracted to the many white papers and consultants hyping the benefits of process improvement, and are quick to trigger an initiative. However, while trying to "improve" their processes, many organizations lack the solid understanding of what it takes to be successful and run into a common set of process improvement pitfalls. Awareness of these pitfalls is essential not only for success, but also to prevent long term organizational damage. This presentation will explore the most common process improvement pitfalls, organizational impacts, and best practices to avoid.
